Class Descriptions
At Hubbardston Irish Dance Troupe, our dance classes are designed to promote a love for Irish dance while fostering growth, creativity, and confidence in our dancers. Our experienced instructors guide students of all levels through traditional Irish dance steps, from beginner jigs to advanced trebles and hornpipes. Each class provides a supportive and inclusive environment where dancers can connect with the rich history
and culture of Irish dance.
Whether you are looking to learn a new skill, stay active, or perform on stage, our dance classes offer something for everyone.

New incoming dancers would be in one of the following classes based on age:
Ages 3 - 4: Sprites
Ages 5 - 6: Kerry Fairies
Ages 7+: New Troupers
All other classes need approval from the director and placement is based on previous experience.

Incoming 3-4 year olds
Limerick Lads + Ladies
Beginner level soft shoe
Causeway Celts
Intermediate level soft shoe and beginner pre-hard shoe. Dancers will be learning reels, slipjigs, and beginner treble reels.
Dublin Dancers
Advanced intermediate soft and hard shoe.
Kerry Fairies
Incoming 5-6 year olds
Blarney Jiggers
Beginner/Intermediate level. Soft shoe only. Dancers will be learning jig steps + ceilis.
Killarney Kickers
Intermediate level soft shoe and hard shoe. Dancers will be learning reels, slipjigs, and intermediate treble reels.
Belfast Bellas
Advanced soft and hard shoe.
Galway Girls +
Advanced soft and hard shoe with heavy technique focus and extra group choreography.
New Troupers
Designed for beginners age 7+, entry level class for older dancers, to learn basics faster.
Aran Emeralds
Intermediate level soft shoe and beginner pre-hard shoe. Dancers will be learning reels and jigs.
Shannon Shufflers
Intermediate soft and hard shoe. Dancers will be learning intermediate reels, slipjigs, and treble reels.
Galway Girls
Advanced soft and hard shoe.
Adults
Beginner and intermediate soft shoe, and hard shoe (if desired). A fun way to get a great workout, learn about Irish dancing, partner work, and basic moves.
